Gregory Electric is hiring an experienced Overhead Groundman. An Overhead Groundman assists the crew in the construction, maintenance and repair of electrical overhead distribution systems. This position works at various locations in/around Columbia, SC.

Essential Functions:

• Work safely while performing new construction, maintenance or repair work of energized and de-energized overhead work.
• CDL or ability to obtain.
• Capable of receiving and following directions.
• Inspects rubber goods and PPE and understands its application.
• Understands minimum approach distance, excavation and shoring
• Basic understanding of tools used in line work
• Properly uses company radio
• Able to identify different sizes and types of material for pre-assembly.
• Able to perform rigorous physical labor outside and in inclement weather.
• Capable of working at heights (with climbing ability) and/or confined spaces.
• Other related work as required to complete the job.
• Good communication skills, self- motivated, team and customer oriented.
