Field Logistics Technician

Position Summary:

The Field Logistics Technician is responsible for coordinating the timely tracking and delivery of materials required for electric utility projects. This role requires the ability to manage and update all electric tracking systems to ensure real-time visibility of project progress and material status across multiple job sites, minimizing delays and ensuring efficient workflow.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, track, and expedite the procurement and delivery of materials to ensure on-time support for electric utility construction projects.
  • Provide on-site support by ensuring the timely delivery and availability of required.
  • Conduct quality checks on incoming materials to verify compliance with project specifications and standards.
  • Conduct pre-site visits to preview job locations and assess readiness before deploying crews.
  • Communicate regularly with project managers, engineers, and field crews to align material availability with project schedules and shifting site needs.
  • Travel to and from job sites and customer’s warehouses to deliver and collect materials from field crews as needed.
  • Track, manage, and update customer’s tracking systems to ensure accurate material usage across job sites.
  • Ensure all materials are properly logged, labeled, and recorded within digital systems; maintain accurate logs of material transactions.
  • Ensure all material handling activities are conducted in compliance with applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher in logistics, supply chain, or construction management preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in expediting, supply chain, or construction support roles, with prior experience as a utility lineman.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Comfortable working on construction sites or warehouse environments.
  • May require standing, walking, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of utility construction processes (water, gas, electric, telecom).
  • Experience with Just-in-Time (JIT) delivery methods.
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and transportation regulations.
